Auto-Conflict causes lost data

Abstract

The instance on my phone often seems to think it's modified a file which it hasn't. This results in a conflict with actual additions made on desktop, and those additions being lost.

Reproducing procedure

I have a two devices, desktop and mobile, both syncing to a couchdb server.

1. Close obsidian on mobile
2. On desktop, add a new paragraph to an existing file
3. Let the additions sync to the server
4. Open obsidian on mobile and view the file

Expected behaviour

I would expect the new additions to sync to the copy of the file on mobile. Mobile should not report a conflict as it made no changes to the file.

Actually happened

Livesync reports a conflict. In some cases it tries to auto-resolve the conflict without asking me, resulting in the additions being lost. I sometimes see the conflict dialog popup, then disappear before I can interact with it.

This doesn't happen every time. Sometimes it works as expected. It seems more common when a few hours or even a day or two pass between steps 3 and 4

Obsidian debug info

Please provide debug info for each device involved. The primary device (where the issue occurred) is required; others are strongly recommended. If your issue involves synchronisation between devices, debug info from relevant devices is very helpful. To get it: open the command palette → "Show debug info".
