Issue description

The last time I used Godot was version 4.6, and I took a break from using it for a while. A week ago, I started working with Godot again and downloaded version 4.8 dev 4. This version—as well as 4.7.2—randomly freezes my operating system. When I run the game, it freezes a few seconds later 90% of the time, sometimes locking up for as long as 10 seconds. It also freezes the entire system when I stop the game. Usually, Windows indicates when a program has stopped responding, but that isn't the case here; it simply freezes and then unfreezes. I normally play demanding games on this machine without any issues, yet using the Godot editor tends to freeze Windows.

My current Windows configuration: Windows 11, RTX 3070 Ti graphics card, 10th Gen Core i3 processor, 64GB of RAM.

Steps to reproduce

All it takes is having a project, hitting play, and playing for a few seconds—and then stopping the game. This happens almost every time—in 90% of cases. It happens most often when stopping the game. I created this MRP to send in, and even though it’s so simple, it freezes Windows, especially when I stop the game.
