What engineering is for
Engineering makes a requirement work under constraints. Content engineering does the same.
Engineering is not rephrasing knowledge that already exists. It makes something work under limits: materials, cost, safety, time, and the environment already there. GEO content engineering has the same kind of limits: whether a source is reliable, whether the subject's boundary is clear, whether the page can be restated, and whether the channel allows that publication.
Historically, engineering grew out of concrete problems of passage, water, and load, and only later became a profession that could be taught. A content team that only collects tactics is not there yet. A tactic has to answer what the requirement is, how failure is noticed, and which constraint the next version changes.
Science explains the world. Engineering changes an arrangement in the world so that it works. A GEO page that only "explains" a product, but cannot be restated as a stable fact, is still a description. It is not yet working content. Working means: given a question, the facts, steps, and sources on the page can be taken up, and that uptake can be checked.
Before a topic, write the constraints, not the hope. Which grade of source is required, what must not be claimed, when a number expires, and who edits after a rejection. Optimization without constraints cannot be accepted as engineering.
