Tables editing - allow selection of multi-cell data - rows, full tables, or multiple cells

Description

For tables, it's easy to select data within one cell, delete full table, or copy the table - but how about selecting a full table?

Also, what would be useful is selecting portions of a table - not just one cell at a time, but full rows, or full columns, or simply a section of a table spanning multiple cells.

What I expect it to do is basically copy the underlying source text - the actual | column text | column text | column text | column text ... | | next row text | column text | column text | column text .. |

Proposed Changes

So, it could be that on right click,in the table action group an additional value is added - 'select table' - same for rows and columns.

If possible, same should be attainable through mouse drag - allow selection to span multiple columns and rows

And since we are in the wishing section: the + icon could be enhanced such that on hovering over it for longer, it could 'expand' into a selection of multiple icons, like -, ^, v (remove, move up/down)

Caveats

I can't see any issues, except maybe with other people being used to the old ways. And perhaps the hovering over the + icon and getting other options being a potential for people doing unwanted things if they click by accident.
