Formatting Problems with Tags in Bold or Italicized Text

Description

Depending upon the position of a tag within a section of bold or italicized text, the formatting may be broken or the tag may not be detected.

• When the bold or italicized text begins with a tag, the color of the tag does not change and it is not detected as a tag (it is not listed in the Tags Manager). This also occurs when the tag is the only text contained within the bold or italics formatting characters.
• When the bold or italicized text ends with a tag or a tag and space, the corresponding bold or italic formatting is not applied. The tag is detected (shows up in the Tags Manager) and includes the closing portion of the bold or italics formatting characters.
• When the bold text begins with a space and then a tag, the bold formatting is not applied.
• When the text is italicized using single underscore formatting characters and begins with a space and then a tag, the italic formatting is not applied. When using single asterisk formatting characters, this can also occur, but will be interpreted as a bullet point if it is at the beginning of the line, which may be intended behavior.

Type a section of bold (using the double asterisk or double underscore formatting characters) or italicized (using the single asterisk or single underscore formatting characters) text containing a tag (pound/hash/number sign character immediately followed by some word) in one of the positions described above in the Description section.
