N64 controller Z button opens Settings menue no matter what Its bound to.

Hi Yall,

I am trying to play with a Nintendo 64 controller and every time I hit the Z button it bring up the Z64 recomp menu. My controller is usable with other n64 Emulators and programs with no issue with button bindings.

I have tried to rebind the buttons in Z64. I have run as admin. I have closed steam. I have added to steam and run with steam controller disabled. I have tried other controllers. (These work fine)

I am wondering if there is an issue with N64 controllers not having enough buttons to have a designated button for the Z64 menu button as well as all the other buttons.

• CPU: Intel Core I-7 12700

• GPU driver: [e.g Nvidia driver 545.XX, AMD driver 24.X.X, etc]

I am happy to list mods if need be but I have this this issue with vanilla game.
