Partial Password leaks into ssh connection

I use 1password for my password management. I initiate a connection, type my 1password password, the ssh session begins to load.

Right before the ssh terminal is ready to type a command, the first two letters of my password display to the left of the input and shown to the right of the input

pas[username@server]$ pas

This doesn't happen all of the time, but enough to warrant an issue being opened.
