Problems with Apple Studio Display 2026

2023 Apple Studio Display APPAE3A works correctly with brightness VCP 0x10.

The new 2026 Apple Studio Display APPAE46 is detected by Twinkle Tray 1.18 beta, but is reported as not supporting DDC/CI. Brightness control does not work with either the normal or legacy DDC/CI detection method.

Both displays are connected directly via USB-C to a MINISFORUM MS-01 running Windows 11 with Intel Iris Xe Graphics. Swapping the USB-C ports does not change the result.

With the older Twinkle Tray version, APPAE46 was not correctly detected. With the current beta, both displays are now listed correctly, but only APPAE3A can be controlled.
