What problem would this solve?

In v0.3.1, the introduction of "Spaces" brings vast potential for organizing timeline feeds. However, the current behavior treats cross-space memos as linked references/mappings rather than isolated entries. This makes it difficult to maintain clean, separated timelines for different categories of notes (e.g., separating high-originality personal notes from low-originality web clips/shares).

What would you like to happen?

I propose refining how Memos interact with Spaces during movement, deletion, and timeline navigation:

1. "Move to Space" vs. "Reference Mapping"

  • Current Behavior: Moving a Memo from the default space to a new space creates a reference mapping instead of a true relocation.

  • Proposed Enhancement: When clicking "Move to Space", add a checkbox in the modal/card:

    • Move completely (Exclusive move)

Checking this box will strictly dissociate the Memo from the current space and assign it exclusively to the target space, keeping the primary inbox/default timeline clean.

2. Fine-grained Space-level Deletion

  • Current Behavior: Deleting a Memo deletes it globally regardless of how many spaces it belongs to.
  • Proposed Enhancement: When clicking the red Delete button:
    1. If the Memo exists in only 1 space: Retain original behavior (delete globally).
    2. If the Memo exists in multiple spaces: Open a space-selection dialog listing all attached spaces (with a "Select All" option). Users can choose to remove the Memo only from specific spaces or delete it completely.

3. Interactive Space Badges for Quick Navigation

  • Current Behavior: The mini space badge next to the timestamp indicates which spaces a Memo belongs to, but is non-clickable.
  • Proposed Enhancement: Make the mini space badge clickable (similar to how clicking the timestamp navigates to the Memo's detail view). Clicking a space badge should jump directly to that specific Memo's anchored position within that Space's timeline feed.

Additional context

I recognize the architectural effort required to balance backward compatibility and system simplicity. Providing an option for exclusive moves keeps the default space as an unchanged single inbox, while unlocking the true potential of multi-space organization.

If this leans away from Memos' design philosophy, it's totally ok - just wanted to share these usability thoughts. Thanks for building such an incredible project and maintaining an amazing community!
