epic: build the AOS adaptive workspace and shell

Outcome

Deliver an agent-native AOS workspace where people open activities—not chats—combine capsules and native applications into coherent tiled or focused surfaces, reshape those surfaces conversationally, and save the result as their own reusable workspace.

Scope and ownership

Unicity AOS owns the standalone Rhai capsule, surface/workspace model, A2UI adapter, semantic component and theme system, detached shell, Astrid integration, native application portals, and product conformance.

Dependencies

• Generic Astrid substrate tracked by the Astrid Surface Substrate project.
• AOS capsule packaging and distribution.
• Existing capsule and principal concepts; no product authority is inferred from visual presentation.

Exit gate

A person can launch the detached shell, create or modify a multi-surface workspace in plain language, combine multiple capsule sources into one coherent activity, include a native application, save and reopen it, then connect the same workspace to a live principal where actions remain capability-governed and auditable.

Claim boundary

Completion does not require Astrid Native hardware boot, replacement of Linux drivers, or every possible application integration. It must prove the enduring product contract rather than a mockup.

Verification

Child outcome gates, accessibility and responsive validation, hostile generated-surface corpus, saved-workspace compatibility, live principal exercise, and usability tests spanning novice and expert workflows.
