A blank board unfurls with a blank social image instead of the default

️: While testing we noticed that blank boards have a blank og-image thumbnail. These should show the default OG image.
When a tldraw.com board has no content, the social preview generated for it is an empty image — a plain expanse of canvas with nothing in it. Someone sharing that link gets an unfurl that looks broken rather than one that looks like tldraw, and it reads as a failed image rather than an empty board. The expected behaviour is that a board with nothing to show falls back to tldraw.com's existing default social image instead of rendering an empty canvas.
Open questions
- Where did you see this — a link unfurl in a chat app, or somewhere in the product itself? Awaiting answer.
- What should count as "blank" here? A board with no shapes at all is clear, but there are near-blank cases too: a board holding only an empty frame, or one whose shapes were all deleted. Should those get the default image as well, or only a completely empty board? Awaiting answer.
- Once a blank board gets its first content, how soon should its preview stop being the default image? Next time it's shared is cheap; immediately on the next edit costs more. Awaiting answer.
- Is the existing default social image the right fallback, or would you rather a blank board unfurled with something board-specific — its name on a branded card, say? Awaiting answer.
