Suggestion: a no LLM code/no AI code policy

  I would like to propose a no LLM code policy. My deepest apologies if one is already in place, but I couldn't find any reference to it here, and sorry if this suggestion was already rejected but I couldn't find any reference to it on the issue tracker either.

  My apologies if I'm filing this in the wrong place or if this isn't something you would want to discuss.

LLM concerns with potential direct project impact:

• Plagiarism rate of LLMs seems to be 5%+ even if not baited: https://dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/3543507.3583199

• This definitely seems to affect code too:

• Entire novels apparently fall out of these things, even newer ones with "safeguards": https://arxiv.org/abs/2601.02671

• Some of the EU lawsuits don't seem to be going so well for the LLM camp: https://www.twobirds.com/en/insights/2025/landmark-ruling-of-the-munich-regional-court-(gema-v-openai)-on-copyright-and-ai-training (No idea what this means and if it matters for code. But at the very least it seems concerning.)

LLM concerns with potential wider impact:

• The plagiarism justification seems to be "well the snippets are too small to get sued over" - basically pushing how much can be taken without consequences. That doesn't seem like a good road to go down for the free software ecosystem, even if it were legal. (Which I don't know if it is.)

PS: I'm not a lawyer and this isn't legal advice. I'm also not an LLM expert and this is just what my best guess is regarding the potential LLM impacts.
