nodes in the path do not line up with the drawing, Inkscape doesn't see the path

A student used 7.4.2 and created a drawing of an airplane and all but the fuselage is visible in Inkscape the tool we used to get to laser cutting. Nothing I could do in Inkscape could show me the fuselage outlined path. And in SVGEdit when I click the path to see the nodes, all the nodes show up in a different location from the displayed path line. I've seen this in 2 different computers.

To Reproduce I don't know how to reproduce, only that I'll attach the svg file which was created with SVGEdit and it does as described.
