Labelsimportance: medium
When comparing images from the Perseverance rover with a matching Stellarium simulation, the rotation of Phobos is offset by 180°, so the side that should be pointing away from Mars is pointing inwards.
Expected Behaviour
Phobos should look like this:

Actual Behaviour
Phobos is showing it's backside to Mars:
Propsed fix
I managed to fix the simulation by rotating the file models/m2deimos.obj.gz 180° around the spin axis.
Now it looks correct:
Fixed 3D Model: m1phobos.obj.gz
Steps to reproduce
- Enable 3D Planets
- Set location to Perseverance (Mars, N 18° 26' 47.76", E 77° 15' 52.57", -2000m)
- Set time to 2026-09-12T15:08:50Z
- Compare Phobos simulation with Rover image
System
- Stellarium version: stellarium-26.2-qt6-win64.exe
- Operating system: Win 10
- Graphics Card: AMD Radeon
