: Calendar Sharing using iCal Link

Which feature or improvement would you like to request?

I'd like to be able to read-only share calendars with users that do not have an account with my stalwart instance.

Other services, like Nextcloud or Gmail do this by constructing a sharable link that contains a secret, so the server can verify that the access attempt is authorized.

While it would be nice to be able to share a calendar with the possibility for users to update it, the link usually leads to a single aggregated iCal file that represents the users calendar, so it is not part of the normal CalDAV flow, usually.

It would be nice if there was a section in a users self service portal where they

• could see the calendars stored in their account - and groups they are a member of.
• add and remove one or multiple sharing links for each of them
• optionally reveal them (preferably the secret part of the URL could be treated like the app passwords and only be stored hashed so this would not be possible)
• See when a link was last used
• On creation, see the link and copy it to the clipboard
• On creation, add a comment to a created sharing link for later reference, like convention schedule for visitor QR code or Roomie Chores 2025, link for the freezer so it is easier to keep track.

These links can easily be added to a lot of software. Thunderbird supports them natively, iOS and Android (via Google Calendars) as well.
