[BUG] Chat Lore / Multi Chat Lore selection leaks lorebooks into global World Info
Environment
Windows / desktop browser
Describe the problem
Selecting lorebooks through the Chat Lore control (which opens the Multi Chat Lore dialog) appears to cause one or more of those lorebooks to become active under Active World(s) for all chats) / global World Info.
This leads to scenario-specific lorebooks being inherited by unrelated chats and can cause cross-chat lore contamination.
Reproduction steps
- Start in a chat with no globally active World Info/lorebooks.
- Confirm the World Info pane shows:
Active World(s) for all chats: noneActive World(s) for this chat: none
- Open the character/chat-side Chat Lore button.
- In the Multi Chat Lore dialog, select several lorebooks intended only for the current chat.
- Save.
- Observe that the selected books correctly appear under Active World(s) for this chat.
- Open Active World(s) for all chats.
- One or more lorebooks selected through Multi Chat Lore are now also selected/active globally.
Expected behavior
Lorebooks selected through Chat Lore / Multi Chat Lore should remain scoped to the current chat and should not become selected under the global World Info list.
Actual behavior
Lorebooks chosen for the current chat are also reflected/promoted into the global selection state, causing them to persist across unrelated chats.
Impact
This can create cumulative cross-chat contamination. For example:
- Chat A gets scenario lorebook A
- A becomes globally active
- Chat B then inherits A and adds B
- B may also become global
- Later chats accumulate unrelated lore from prior scenarios
This can be especially damaging when lorebooks are used as long-term memory stores (for example with Memory Books), because unrelated characters/scenes can begin appearing in other scenarios.
Additional notes
The UI makes scope difficult to distinguish because Chat Lore, Multi Chat Lore, Active World(s) for this chat, and Active World(s) for all chats are adjacent but do not clearly expose activation provenance.
The issue is reproducible from a state where no global books are active before using Multi Chat Lore.
I have screenshots showing the sequence:
- No global worlds active while books are checked in Multi Chat Lore
- After saving, books appear under current-chat active worlds and one appears under all-chats/global
- Opening the global selector shows the same books checked there
I can provide those screenshots if needed.
