Auto-resizing sl-textarea bug fix has a follow up bug

Describe the bug

It is related to the bug I already reported before (Issue #2180). A fix has been implemented and it seemed to work perfectly fine. However, I noticed a small weird behaviour after a while, which I explained in this comment.
