Kafka v4.0 fixes a major bug in transactions, which essentially allowed Produce requests from one transaction to "leak" into another transaction. This required breaking changes, so transaction.version = 2 has been introduced in order to fix this.
It seems that segmentio/kafka-go does support Kafka v4.0, but has not yet moved to transactions v2. Since this affects the correctness of transactions, can this feature be brought to the segmentio client soon?
