Frequent 502s on Alpha

Nearly without fail, pressing "Restart Grain" on Alpha results in:
Error 502
It appears the Sandstorm back-end is not responding. This usually happens for a few seconds during server upgrades.
Please wait a few seconds and try again. If the problem does not resolve, the system administrators will be automatically paged. I don't see this behavior on my own server.
I also got a lot of 502s when trying to approve app updates the other day.
