Request for native LanguageTool integration (grammar checking)

Hello,

I’m a regular user of Tolaria and appreciate its focus on clean, distraction‑free writing. However, as someone who writes in multiple languages (including Catalan), the lack of built‑in grammar checking is a significant limitation.

LanguageTool is a free, open‑source grammar checker with excellent support for many languages (including Catalan, Spanish, English, French, German, etc.). Other editors such as Obsidian, iA Writer, and Cogito already integrate very well with LanguageTool Desktop on macOS, offering real‑time underlining, suggestions, and one‑click replacements throughout the document.

Currently, LanguageTool Desktop works only partially in Tolaria: it often detects issues correctly, but text replacements fail from the second line/paragraph onward. This strongly suggests non‑standard text control behavior that breaks compatibility with external checkers.

I believe native LanguageTool integration should be a core feature for any serious writing app. Ideally, this could include: • Full compatibility with LanguageTool Desktop (real‑time checking, suggestions, and replacements working in all paragraphs). • Optional direct connection to a LanguageTool server (public or self‑hosted) for users who prefer not to run the desktop app. • Simple preferences to enable/disable grammar checking and select languages.

This would make Tolaria a much more viable option for professional and academic writers, especially in multilingual contexts.
