[Feature Request] option to only latch dev tools to the current tab

I just barked at my dev team for leaving the dev tools extension turned on in production to find out that dev tools no longer provides a "extensions not turned on message" but then auto selects other instances and displays those actions completely unrelated to the page I am on. There maybe a good reason for this ("i can't seem to find it though"), however, I would like a setting to return the behavior back to normal.
