Colorblind Accessibility & Legend Clarification
Checklist
- I have searched for existing issues/discussions and didn't find any similar ones.
Describe the feature or improvement
Using this software for the first time, I found that I couldn't distinguish between Recommended and Not Recommended apps on the App Removal page. With my version of colorblindness, the colors look virtually identical.
Suggestion 1: Adopt a colorblind friendly palette such as blue/yellow/red for the legend and app indicators.
Suggestion 2: Use shape in addition to color to convey meaning. For example, recommended apps could be denoted with a blue circle, optional with a yellow triangle, and not recommended with a red octagon.
Suggestion 3: Increase the size of dots/icons. Larger visual area can aid in differentiating colors.
On a related note, the meaning of Recommended and Not Recommended was not immediately obvious. I eventually discovered that a tooltip would pop up if I hovered over the legend entries, but it might be clearer if "Recommended" became "Safe to Uninstall" and "Not Recommended" became "Uninstall Not Recommended".
Examples
Here's an example I whipped up with Antigravity.
An alternative implementation using Segoe Fluent Icons and AppFgColor so it works in both light and dark mode.
