Memory snapshots?

I read a while back that something called memory snapshots was being worked on, where it would cut down the load time of the packages. Is this still being actively worked on? I'm finding if I have a few larger packages like opencv, numpy, scipy..etc, it really bogs down the load time at the beginning which is super frustrating. Cheers
