• MailFathom - A security-first, self-hosted AI brain for email that synchronizes IMAP mailboxes into operator-owned PostgreSQL and provides local search and cited answers.

• Why do you think this helps users privacy?: MailFathom has no mandatory hosted component. Mail remains in a user-controlled PostgreSQL database; retrieval is local, does not contact IMAP, and does not change the remote \Seen flag. MCP access is opt-in; configuration cannot be changed through the network surface, secrets are externally provisioned by reference, and mail content and metadata are excluded from logs and errors. Chat and embedding models can run locally through OpenAI-compatible endpoints. Remote model providers are optional and explicitly configured; when used, selected mail-derived passages can leave the deployment.

• Additional comments / info: Current release: v0.6.0. Documentation. The rendered documentation site loads no third-party analytics or tracker scripts. The MCP endpoint is disabled until explicitly enabled and supports API keys, OAuth, TLS, client-certificate profiles, rate limits, and request timeouts. I am the MailFathom maintainer.
