Better Filename / Foldername use

User Story

As a lazy photo enthusiast, I want have better filename / foldername integration, so that I can keep being lazy and keep avoiding pp-albums, while still having most of their benefits.

What problem does this solve, and why would it be valuable to many users?

Right now, I have basically two hierarchy levels for my collection. I have a folder-structure like pictures/decade/year/timestamp name of album. And I have filenames in them, similar to name of album - sequential number. That kind of order makes it easy to e.g. send over albums to people via WhatsApp, post them as Facebook albums, and so on -- perfect. Indexing works, but some features in PP are missing / too hard to reach when using it that imho would make sense.

What solution do you propose?

• My first PP view is "Suche", it shows the latest photo first, then the second latest, and so on. It also shows the filenames -- good. I'm missing a "group by folder" option and a "sort reverse chronical" option. For "group by folder", there should be stacks instead of the single photos, with the folder name and maybe some other things.
• Clicking on "Orte", I get the map with pictures stack on top according to their GPS location. That's nice and probably one of the main features why I have installed PP and it works well. When i click on such a stack, I get a new window containing the thumbnails of the photos. Hovering shows the title generated by PP. It would be nice, if I could get folder name + file name as a second line in that text.
• Clicking on such a photo shows me the photo and a sidebar. The sidebar contains a ton of useful information. What I'm missing is the actual folder. Not the image reference with resolution -- that leads me to copying that to the clipboard. I'd like to be able to click on the folder name of the current image and get all the items of that folder in a thumbnail / filename view.
• Clicking on the "Edit" button and on "Dateien", a bit hidden, I have "Durchsuchen". At the first glance, this does exactly what I want. Clicking on it, I get a list of all of the photos in the folder with filenames -- exactly, what I want. I can also navigate within the folder structure -- perfect. The problem here: When I click on one of these thumbnails, I get a sidebar with all kind of details I can edit. Instead, I'd like to get that picture in fullscreen -- similar to what "search" offers. With navigation to previous / next images of that folder. And maybe even the "play" button to slideshow it. Also, being able to reverse the order of the pictures shown would be nice but isn't really needed.

...these fixes already would help me a lot. I'd like to avoid albums as good as possible, as I already have ordered everything in folders the way I like it and that would make me do a lot more work without a real benefit to me.

Which alternatives or workarounds have you considered?
