Why it will stop ping after a while?

I am just running gping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx And after a while (about many seconds), the ping time will show top number some times and then it shows nothing and t/o will increase to 15. Nothing will render in the graph then but gping is keeping running. Why this happened? My version of gping is v1.20.1.
