I was shared this prompt on ChatGPT to optimize resumes so they can pass ATS screening. I’m not sure if anyone has actually applied it and found it effective. I’d like to hear more perspectives from experts on the use of AI in resume writing today. Thank you.

Here are the prompts:

1. Professional Summary (Paragraph): Write a 3–5 sentence summary that highlights 3–4 key career achievements from my resume, states my total years of experience, and aligns them with the most important requirements from the job description. Focus on what was done, how, and the impact. Use confident, action-driven language (no filler). Keep between 500–600 characters.
2. ATS Keywords (Bulleted List): Extract 20–30 high-priority keywords, tools, or terms directly from the job description. Present them as clean bullet points, prioritizing the most frequent and recurring terms for strong Applicant Tracking System performance.
3. Rewritten Bullet Points: Rewrite each bullet point from my resume to naturally integrate the extracted ATS keywords. Ensure all rewrites remain true and accurate to my experience, emphasize measurable results, and reflect alignment with the target job description.
