Feature: Alternative View Style for Field Type "URL"
Please confirm that the feature request does not already exist
- I confirm there is no existing issue for this feature request.
Use case
Hey devs. Love NocoDB and appreciate this may be a low priority request, but would imagine it's not too difficult to implement, so I'm crossing my fingers and toes.
Currently the URL field dislays the full URL inside the column when a URL has been added. In Grid view this ends up looking like the following:
Which is fine if you want to shrink it down, but looks kind of ugly and impractical.
Suggested solution
In my ideal world an option would be here:
A toggle for Show links as icons -this could be a default generic icon for everyone, or if you want to go the whole hog, give users the option to pick an icon.
The links would then appear similar to how attachments are shown:
Which when clicked would open in a new tab or with an option to edit the link / open it - however detaled you really want to make it. The ability to have multiple links (separated by semi colons perhaps) would also be very cool.
Additional context
Again, I understand this is probably not a priority feature, but I think it would be a welcome one from a UX perspective, especially now that Interfaces are available.
Thanks in advance for the consideration.
Note: I did search, but could not find anything like this already suggested, but can't be 100%, so apologies if this is already requested
