Please merge develop into master

CONTRIBUTING.md states that all PRs should be made on the develop branch, but that only works if these fixes then get merged into master for a release. That hasn't happened since August 2023!

There are likely a lot of fixes made in PRs that haven't made their way into a release because of this. I would highly recommend a merge of develop into master.
