Trying to diagnose slow connection startup

Until recently, mosh has been very quick to connect to my server. However, over the last few days I've found that sometimes it takes several seconds to connect, and I'm not sure what's going on. Is there any way to get more detailed debugging information to see what is causing the startup delay?
