Mouse Pointer Crosshairs freezes/locks position when clicking inside application windows
Microsoft PowerToys version and release channel
0.101.2362
Installation method
PowerToys auto-update
Area(s) with issue?
Mouse Utilities
Steps to reproduce
The Mouse Pointer Crosshairs utility becomes unresponsive and locks its position when clicking inside the client area of an active application window. Once locked, the crosshair does not follow the mouse until the user clicks directly on the desktop, which temporarily restores functionality until another application window is clicked.
✔️ Expected Behavior
The mouse pointer crosshairs should remain active and smoothly follow the mouse cursor regardless of whether the cursor is over the desktop or an application window.
❌ Actual Behavior
The crosshairs freeze in place at the exact spot where the application window was clicked. The crosshair position remains locked until the user clicks on the desktop background, at which point normal tracking resumes.
