I cant trade between Pokemon games because multiplayer window freezes

Yeah, the title says it all. I cant trade because everytime i try the load the second game (after i clicked multiplayer window) it will freeze. I Tried it with an older version of mgba, it will work but my save file on the 2nd game is not loaded
