RFC: memory export interop — portable bundles with proof and chain of custody
Maintainer of cognicore-env (open-source, MIT) — this is an interop RFC, not a feature ask.
Mem0 has the memory API and the audience. What the ecosystem lacks is a portability standard: memory added in one Mem0 deployment travels to another system only as text, with no state, history, or provenance. When agents multiply inside a company, every vendor and framework holds a separate memory island.
Proposal: an export format for memory bundles that carries proof (command, result, exit code, output hash) and chain of custody, with trust decay across unverified hops — so Mem0 memory can leave and return with its epistemic state intact. We built and tested this across four platforms and would gladly align or contribute the adapter on our side regardless of what the team decides here.
If nothing else, consider this a standing offer: an interop format between our systems would benefit both user bases, and the PR is on me.
