Unable to delete obsolete ntprint.inf driver packages

Description

DriverStore Explorer is unable to remove obsolete versions of the Microsoft ntprint.inf driver package from the Driver Store.

Several versions of ntprint.inf are detected, including older packages that should normally be removable.

For example, when attempting to delete an obsolete package, DriverStore Explorer reports:

Error deleting ntprint.inf (oem60.inf) from Driver Store.

The same issue occurs with other obsolete ntprint.inf packages, for example oem91.inf.

Observed behavior

  • DriverStore Explorer correctly detects the old ntprint.inf packages as obsolete.
  • When selecting them and using Delete Driver(s), the deletion fails.
  • The error appears to affect only ntprint.inf packages.
  • Other obsolete driver packages can be removed normally.

Expected behavior

Obsolete versions of ntprint.inf should be removable when they are no longer required by the system, or DriverStore Explorer should provide more information about why Windows refuses their removal.

Additional information

Several versions of ntprint.inf are currently present in the Driver Store, for example:

  • 10.0.26100.8972
  • 10.0.26100.6725
  • 10.0.26100.4202
  • 10.0.26100.3912

Screenshots showing the detected packages and the deletion error are attached.

It would be useful to know whether this is a DriverStore Explorer issue or a specific restriction introduced by Windows for the ntprint.inf package.
