Unclear how to customize search provider

Are searches deterministic in the system? Or agent decides when to search?

I want to use this, possibly with fallback to another api or even self hosted searxng. Docs are unclear on how to configure custom search providers. https://hub.docker.com/mcp/server/duckduckgo/overview

Love the langchain ecosystem but this repo doesn't seem as foss-first as usual.
