video stuttering during live tv playback

Description of the bug
When playing live interlaced tv on the Jellyfin Android app which is in an interlaced format, live tv video seems to stutter consistently, the audio however works fine without issue.
I believe it's only the android applications so far, (tv and mobile) as Kodi on the same device works without this issue.
I have not noticed the issue so far with progressive content.
Reproduction steps
- Sign into Jellyfin Android app.
- Ensure the default video player is in use.
- Play a video which is in an interlaced format, 576i, 1080i, etc.
- wait a short moment and the video content should stutter/freeze with the audio still playing without any issue.
What is the current bug behavior?
The video playback stutters quite considerably during interlaced content viewing on android tv and mobile.
What is the expected correct behavior?
The video is deinterlaced and looks similar if not the same to non interlaced content
