Verify Helm charts with cosign

I would like to be able to use cosign to verify Helm charts.

$ cosign verify --key https://istio.io/misc/istio-key.pub gcr.io/istio-release/charts/istiod:1.30.2                             
Error: no signatures found
error during command execution: no signatures found

I'm using Flux and it would be nice to verify the OCI artifacts with cosign.
