MusicAssistant: WiiM Airplay player entities and device numbers changing with every update

The problem

Lately (not sure when it started, maybe a few months ago?) with every Music Assistant update, my WiiM Airplay players are changing entity names and their device IDs. This requires changing all associated automations manually to point to the "new" players. It seems they "flip-flop" (for instance, after one update my "media_player.great_room_music_player_3" will change to "media_player.great_room_music_player_4". Then, after the next update, it will change back. I haven't kept close track of the device IDs to see if they are also flip-flopping, but they are changing as the automations pointing to the device instead of the entity are also requiring changes to point to the correct device. This appears to only happen with my Airplay entities (which are the primary entities I use in all my audio automations). If I use the native WiiM integration, this does not happen, but I find that playback and overall function is more reliable if I use Airplay and I'd like to stick with that.

There is nothing in the logs that points to a reason. I see a lot of errors associated with the dead device and entity IDs after an update...and that's it.
