  • I will describe the problem with as much detail as possible.

App version

3.5.2

Windows version

Windows 11 Pro for Workstations, version 25H2 (Build 26200.8973)

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch Mem Reduct (version 3.5.2) on Windows 11 Pro for Workstations 25H2.
  2. Click the "Clean" button (or "Trim processes' working sets" button) on the main interface.
  3. Observe the application UI immediately freezes and shows "Not Responding" in the title bar.
  4. The freeze lasts for about 15–20 seconds.
  5. After it recovers, the memory usage is reduced, but the lag occurs every time I perform the cleanup.

Additional notes:

  • The system cursor also stutters during the freeze.
  • No error message appears; it just hangs and then resumes.
  • The issue is reproducible 100% of the time.

Expected behavior

No response

Actual behavior

After clicking the "Clean" button (or "Trim processes' working sets" button), the Mem Reduct window immediately freezes and the title bar shows "(Not Responding)". The UI becomes completely unclickable, and the mouse cursor sometimes turns into a spinning circle or lags.

  • The freeze lasts for about 15–20 seconds.
  • During this time, Windows may pop up a "Wait / Close program" dialog.
  • After the freeze ends, the memory usage drops, but the application becomes responsive again.
  • No error message or crash log is displayed.
  • This behavior happens every single time I perform a cleanup, regardless of system load.
