Hackrf Pro - RSSI Mux Test Fail

Author: RajadeepanmCreated Sep 10, 2026Updated Sep 17, 2026

What outcome were you hoping for?

I have been using multiple HackRF devices. In which some of them are reporting RSSI MUX Test Failure and TX not working too..

This issue can be fixed ONLY by doing hard reset every time after powered ON using the following command hackrf_spiflash -R

I tried installing the firmware suggested by #1696 (hackrf_pro_6968b1c2.zip) and hard reset, but still issue persists after multiple reboot. It seems to be working ONLY for some time.. Again it popped up again after certain reboots.

I also tried with official firmware too, but it did not help:

Also the Self Test messages from hackrf_info is disappearing after hard reset: why?

What outcome actually happened?

Some of the SDRs are reposting this issue with the default firmware. Then i tried updating the firmware's 2026.01.3 and hackrf_pro_6968b1c2. But it did not help after certain time.

The only ways it works is to do hard reset every time after manual power cycle. hackrf_spiflash -R

What operating systems are you seeing the problem on?

Raspberry Pi 5
