Desktop mode not working on pixel 10 pro with --new-display

Describe the bug
Normal mirroring works fine but when I start scrcpy with --new-display to get the desktop mode, I get a solid background and the dock with the app launcher but trying to open any app doesn't do anything. I can open something by long-pressing an app icon and using a shortcut but it opens in full screen with no windows or borders or controls. I don't know if it's just a device bug\limitation. I connect thru wireless adb if could matter. Would be nice to get a feedback from another pixel 10 user as well.
