[Bug] Settings are saved only on the second attempt

Describe the bug

I think it would be best to show this in a Video GIF. Basically, any parameter in the settings fails to save on the first attempt; the setting is only saved correctly on the second try.

Example:

To Reproduce

1. Go to Settings.
2. Click on any setting.
3. Scroll down and click Submit.
4. Verify that the state is not saved the first time.

Expected behavior

The settings should be saved after clicking Submit.

Additional context

I don't know if it matters, but the installation is on shared hosting - which means all directories are located in the main public directory.
