potential attempt at serving malware

Hello Felix, I have noticed that the domain sketchybar dot org is attempting to build legitimacy and gain trust by pretending to be the official website for SketchyBar. It's one of the top results for me when I search sketchybar.

I don't know whether they are just cybersquatting or serving malware disguised as sketchybar.

It's obvious from their copy that they have nothing to do with you.

From their Disclaimer page:

This website is an independent informational resource and is not officially affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or connected to the developers of SketchyBar or Apple Inc.

They have a big Download Free button in their hero:

I have uploaded the whole zip to Virus Total, and also scanned the whole URL, but nothing is being flagged as suspicious, but that does not mean that there is nothing wrong with it, just that nobody else has flagged it yet.

Now, I am a developer with an interest in security, but at the same time I do not want to accidentally mess my macOS so I did not extract the zip and dig into it further.

The domain seems to have been recently registered on spaceship.com, maybe you can contact the registrar and take the domain down or transferred to you if it is legitimately a bad faith actor?
