  • My issue is not about crashing on Fedora and KDE 6.6

Description

Made a quick verification of this being a new issue. Potentially missed it if said issue is a duplicate.

What I have tried:

  • Attempted to create a full .json config without a logo.
  • Tried various toggled options to verify the issue wasn't one of them.
  • Tried a full logo with a full .json config, same issue.
  • Tried a minimal .json config with no logo.
  • Tried a minimal logo with both full and minimal .json configs.
  • Deleting previous config files to verify the problem isn't with overwriting
  • Killing the affected process with Ctrl+C (does nothing)
  • Killing the affected process with htop
  • Tested all of the above on a Gentoo system registering version 2.65.2-r1

Tested up to 30 mins per option to verify.

What I haven't tried:

  • Newer version via AUR/Git. Attempting to keep a fairly stable system.
  • Building version 2.67.1 from source code (Artix)

What does work:

  • The --gen-config flag without adding any changes to the logo.
  • The --gen-config flag without adding any changes to the verbosity of the generated config.
  • Killing affected processes via xkill on Sakura

Doubtful this will help, but both systems have these in common:

  • OpenRC for an init system
  • BTRFS File System, 3 partition layout in order: EFI, Root, Swap
  • Sakura for a Terminal Emulator
  • CWM window manager
  • soteria root prompt
  • polybar with the same config
  • Pure X11 (No Wayland components, Gentoo built against it)
  • elogind
  • xcompmgr compositor
  • 1920x1080 display (stranger things have happened from displays, can't rule it out)
  • ALSA Pulseaudio configuration
  • Environment Agnostic GUI tools (e.g. xfe, leafpad, palemoon)
  • Clang Compiler (maybe important for Gentoo, Artix used the binary)
