Open up discussions to free issue list from less relevant entries

Describe the bug As of 2025-07-30, this repo has 1,341 closed and 434 open issues — 24.45% open. Quite a few are support questions or usage / documentation problems, not actual bugs.

Expected behaviour Only actionable bugs and feature requests should remain in Issues.

Fix

• Enable GitHub Discussions.
• Move issues to discussion or close to reach a target of ≤15% open (≤266 open issues as of today).
• Use Discussions for general questions and support.
