Newline characters are not respected when displaying some responses

What's happening?

With No Persona selected, ask Claude Sonnet 5 non-thinking model to "Generate numbers 1 to 100, one number per line."

The numbers will be displayed all on one line:

1 2 3 4 5 ... 100

However, copying the response text, or attempting to edit the response show each number on an individual line:
