GIF files are converted to png

Describe the bug I don't know if this is really a bug or the expected behavior but whenever I choose a gif file with animations, the library converts to png and the file loses the animation.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Just drag and drop an animated gif file and see the generated image tag, it generates a png mimetype.

Expected behavior Is there a way to preserve the gif file without conversion?
