How could Dat protocol be suitable for blockchain or transactional ledger

Hi this is an awesome project and I've had my eye on it for some time. I'm curious for possible advice how to structure a blockchain system around the protocol. My requirements include speed and consistency, probably obvious, but important to consider reaching tens of thousands of verifiable transactions per second.
