BUG: Corrupted highlight rendering / color glitching on DNG files
Author: garare992Created May 17, 2026Updated Sep 18, 2026

What happened?
When opening a .dng file in RapidRAW, the overexposed highlight areas (specifically the sky in the background) are rendering with severe, jagged white blocks and strange color glitching (magenta/green/blue edges). It looks like a processing error with clipped highlights rather than a smooth transition to pure white.
What did you expect to happen?
The overexposed sky should render as a smooth transition into pure white without harsh jagged edges or glitching.
How can we reproduce this?
- Open RapidRAW on macOS.
- Import or navigate to the specific
.dngfile (DSC08950.dng, 6336 x 9504). - View the image in the main editor window.
- Observe the rendering in the blown-out highlight regions.
Operating System
macOS Apple Silicon
RapidRAW Version
1.5.5
