Windows: clipboard paste produces garbled characters that can't be deleted

Problem
On Windows, pasting text from clipboard produces garbled/mojibake characters. These corrupted characters get inserted into the text input and cannot be deleted with backspace.

Expected Behavior
Pasted text should appear correctly and be fully editable/deletable.
Actual Behavior
Pasted content appears as unreadable garbled characters and becomes stuck in the input field.
